Kochi city police on Sunday morning took Ayyappa Dharma Sena president Rahul Easwar into custody for his objectionable statement that he had lined up volunteers to desecrate the sanctum sanctorum at Sabarimala by spilling their blood.

KOCHI: Kochi city police on Sunday morning took Ayyappa Dharma Sena president Rahul Easwar into custody for his objectionable statement that he had lined up volunteers to desecrate the sanctum sanctorum at Sabarimala by spilling their blood.
He was taken taken into custody from his apartment in Thiruvananthapuram. Police has taken him to Kochi where he will be questioned before registering his arrest.

Rahul Easwar made the controversial statement at a press conference in Ernakulam on Wednesday.
Police registered first information report against him on Friday. Later he had changed his statement claiming he we dissuading those who were ready to take extreme steps in Sabarimala issue.
Rahul Easwar has been booked under sections 117 for abetting commission of offence by the public or by more than 10 persons and 153 (for provocation with intent to cause riot) of the IPC.
